World Adaptive Judo would like to congratulate Rodrigo Rigoni from Brazil for his perseverance, dedication and sheer determination in achieving his goals in judo.

Rodrigo was born with lower limb paresis due to cerebral ischemia and has undergone numerous surgeries and pin placements to help him function more freely. Rodrigo has been doing judo for over 12 years now under the watchful eye and experience of sensei Giuliano Jacques Liotto at the Associacao Erechim de Judo. Together they made the journey to the occasion of Rodrigo demonstrating the Nage no Kata for his 1st Dan Black Belt. Here is the link to view Rodrigo in action

Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions in Brazil the judo federation will only allow graduation exams to take place in the tandoku-renshu format. Tandoku Renshu is the term for practicing movements without a partner. As balance is Rodrigo biggest difficulty he has made it his biggest challenge to overcome or/and improve.
